  1. I have been capping and encoding for about a year so I consider myself
to have a medium to above average knowledge.

I wanted to improve my encode just that little bit so I used these setting

    Vid
    Average 2486
    min 1000
    Max2586

    Audio
    192

Total bitrate= 2778 which is the standard. But when I cut the file using bbmg (muxed file etc) it get a message that the video and audio bitrate are too mhigh and might not play correctly.....I use CCE for my encode can anybody see what Iam doing wrong or is it that I am not using a "standard rate" for audio and video???
How long could we maintain? I wondered. How long until one of us starts raving and jabbering at this boy? What will he think then?

  2. I should state that I normally use 224 audio and 2520 video

which onlt equals 2744 ...maybe my setting are to close to the standard which doesn't allow for any mass fluction in bitrate..but the max setting should determine the absolute highest bitrate at any one time

  3. You forget that there is a small amount of overhead bandwidth you need to allow for when you multiplex the streams together. That is why it tells you it is too much, you should back off the video max about 25 or so and that should be enough.

    would you say that

    192 audio

It's just something to try and see.... I usually set mine to 2550/160 and don't have a problem, but 2600/160 complains ( but plays fine )

  7. would you say that

    192 audio
    and 2552 video is safe
Yes that is almost certainly safe within specs. Your initial settings are almost 99% safe as well, as most players will handle slightly above specs, but for best compatibility keep within the specs.

look the Fox149 its not too much bitrate you can use 5000 video and 448 for audio, and it still isnt enough, its just a matter that your player can handle it. im pretty sure there is no problem with your original size. just ignore the inquiry.

  9. I am converting a wedding video so compatibility is a must....

Needless to say to get it to work on this customer Player I have to use the VCDheader trick ....so I know that the machine could quite possibly handle files that are above the "standards" ...but for future the custmore might wanna copy them etc and it would cause less probs if they are within a given spec.

The error may simply be due to the fact that the original SVCD was designed for a max bitrate of 2496 kbps to keep bitrate low enough to meet the DVD Player standard read rate for CD-R.

BBMpeg is probably complaining for that reason, although I agree with everyone else. Your player will probably play it without issue. If your worried, just keep your video max to 2496. I would think the visual difference between 2520, and 2496 would be inivisible to the viewer.
Impossible to see the future is. The Dark Side clouds everything...
