  1. I have a movie split into 3 clips all encoded with Xvid codec
    They are all 23.976 FPS
I separated the audio to .wav
    The first clip went falwlessly
But the second clip is 3 times bigger (700mb) and the TMPGenc always fails changing it at the same spot

I got Vdub Mp3 and followed Tender's guide
I scan the movie for bad frames but Vdub Mp3 fails the scan at the same spot every time

I would really like to get this to work
    What can i do?

  2. I deleted some of the bad frames myself
But when i save the avi it becomes an enormous file and i have to stop it because i wouldn have enough space on my hard drive
Can i delete some of the bad frames out of the Xvid encoded .avi and Save it back as an Xvid encoded .avi?

  3. Another Update
The bad frame in the video is so bad that when i try to pass it going frame by frame Vdub freezes and needs to be shut down.
What can i do to fix this bad spot in hte video

Under both the Audio and Video tabs select "Direct Stream Copy" then save your avi. The audio and video will be saved in the original format, no re-encoding.

  5. when you cut those frames out make sure you select direct stream copy so it will only be as big as the file you already have

Cutting it out manually is the way to go. Use the yellow colored "Key Frame" buttons to move the slider bar, hopefully it will skip past the bad parts, then make your cuts at the key frames.

Here's what I've done in your situation......

Cut the video into two parts, Part A is before the glitch and is in sync, Part B is after and needs fixing.

Extract a wav audio file from each part, I use Goldwave but if it's not AC3 or VBR-MP3 then you can use Vdub.

Use Vdub to remux the wav audio into part A: load the part A avi, select wav audio, set video and audio to direct stream copy, save avi.

Use Goldwave to adjust the audio in Part B: cut a portion if it lags, insert silence if it leads

Use Vdub to remux the wav audio into part B (see above).

Test the audio in part B and readjust if necessary. When you are satisfied with the results you can join parts A & B with the Append Avi function in Vdub.

If you need more details just ask. Good luck! 8)

  9. OK first question what should i split it with?
And am i supposed to cut it exactly before the bad area?
The audio is wav so i dont have to worry about that

    No.

If you mark the very beginning of the movie, and then right up to just before the glitch, then "save segemented avi" that'll save part A.

If you then mark right after the glitch, and then the very end of the movie, then "save segmented avi,' that'll be part B.

BTW, be sure to have the audio and video set to direct stream copy.

Then reload part B Avi back into Vdbub, audio full processing mode and save wav to extract.

  12. I cant do this AHHH
I fixed the audio in part A which was cut before the bad area but the end it has about one second of audio pulled from it
Part b has the 1 second of audio from A on the video so the video is lagging the audio
    Im thinking about giving up
I have gone this far should i go on

    Keep going, you're getting close.

If you join the two parts (append avi) does it work?

If not, then extract a wav from each avi, use Goldwave to fix the wav's (cut from one, add to the other), remux the wav's back in the avi's, join the avi's.

    I'll check back tomorrow.

Yes, that's what I'd try. You can open two (or more?) files in Goldwave at the same time and switch back and forth. Set the markers under the Edit tab to select the start and end points, then "copy" to copy it to the clipboard, make the second file window active then "paste" to copy from the clipboard into the second file.

Also, under Tools and device controls is a control box for playing the file. You can locate your markers and play the file back at any point, that can help to locate the part where you want to cut/copy.

    Good luck!

  19. It really is no use, there are more errors in the video and it would take forever to fix them unless there is some other way to cut frames out
