  1. Hello everyone,

How can I instruct CCE Basic to start a new GOP at certain points? I need this for frame-accurate chapter points.

In TMPGEnc this can be done withe the "Force picture type" option, but how can I do it with CCE Basic?

    Thanks,

    Tom.

This is how you would do it in CCE SP, if its not the same in CCE Basic than the feature must not be supported.

On the encode settings tab hit settings near the top. Double click on the item in the box. You can now scroll through the movie or manually input a frame number and then hit SET to create a chapter at this point. When CCE encodes it will make this frame an I-Frame and close that GOP, which will give you a pinpoint chapter point.

If you are encoding from a DVD source you can load all the chapter points directly into CCE. You can use something like ChapterXtractor or IFOUpdate to create a chapter list from the corresponding ifo. This list can be imported into CCE by pasting its contents at the end of your ECL project file.

  3. hi there!

i'm sure manual insertion of i-frames is not supported by cce basic, but cce sp definitely does.
