Check in control panel multimedia options, see if the record funtion is checked/muted.
How are you inputting the sound?
Is it via your capture card or soundcard?

Make sure in the advanced settings of your sound control panel that line in is checked as the recording source instead of microphone. That seems to be a common problem when people make their first captures.

  5. Most cature cards dont capture the audio they leave that to the soundcard. So you usually have an audio lead going from your cap card to the line in on your soundcard. Is this connected correctly.
