  1. Hi,
I am getting intermittent (but VERY frequent) freezes when ripping. This happens with smartripper and dvddecrypter. It doesn't appear to be related to any particular dvd since if I persevere I can eventually rip. When I get the freeze not even ctrl/alt/del will help - I have to physically turn off the PC. Any ideas> This is driving me CRAZY!!!!

    Thanks

  3. I am using Windows Me. I tried turning DMA off, and although it is too early to get excited I have now ripped three disks without problem - more than I have been able to do without a freeze b4. Only problem is that my ripping speed has now halved. It isn't too bad but it would be nice to 'have my cake and eat it'!!

    Thanks for the advice.

Check the tick box for 'sync data transfer' in Device Manager for the DVD rom with DMA turned on.

  5. Also check for latest IDE and BIOS updates for your mainboard, may fix any problems regarding transfer on your PC.
