Oh, and the show... I liked it.
For once my semi-trekkie ass can start watching one of the series form the beginning. I never saw the beginning of Voyager, and what did manage to catch from it, I hated... DS9 was okay it seemed. I never watched that regularly, either.

If anyone has it, could they send me their VCD encode of the show? I realized too late that I should have been taping it for later capture. Actually, I realized I should have been taping when Science Officer T'Pol was in the decontamination chamber with what's his name... and she was getting oiled up.

Hmmm... Also, I have Yahoo! Messenger. But that thing sucks and doesn't allow for real file transfers... I am on Windows XP, and that comes with something called Windows Messenger that I never registered for, and uninstalled. That hooks up to the MSN Messenger server as well... I am contemplating reinstalling it, but I already have way too many messaging apps installed when I only use ICQ and AIM. Then IRC is seperate... I host my chat rooms with that.

  8. easiest way would be to go via IRC

I transfer things with friends there all the time

beats MSN and AIM for sure - esp cause you can resume

just jump on Dalnet or something and create a room

read my earlier post in this thread - you need to subscribe to a news service -- google doesn't do binaries

  12. In a word; disapointing.

They keep hyping it was going to be the "beginning" and what do they do? Start off 100 years AFTER the arrival of the Vulcans on earth which I thought would be the beginning like that was the end point in one of the movies.

They are already going wrap 4.5 and the story line has the federation being henpecked by the vulcans...for a century. You buy that?

My view, each reincarnation of the series is worse that the last one. The acting was awful. The script was worse. A missed opportunity. Would have been far better if they did start in the beginning and see all the failures, the wave of excitement sweep earth that we're not alone. And who is their custume designer? Not once has any series ever had decent uniforms. Movies neither, except maybe in the one where Spock dies. LOL!

Yes, Stinky, I know. But Mdanner423 doesn't have mIRC or ICQ, so we can't use either of those programs which has a resuming capability. I like ICQ even more because it has a throttle, which mIRC doesn't have. By the way, I am on cable, so the send shouldn't take more than a few hours... perhaps even overnight. You should look into getting mIRC, Mdanner, because it is just great. Plus, once you have it you can get any movie you want.

OMG! I LOVED Earth2 (and the Noxema Girl)

If I provided an FTP site could we trade some shows?

    I'll have Enterprise VCD'd soon.

    Thanks,

    warez

/weirz/ A term used by software pirates use to describe a cracked game or application that is made available to the Internet, usually via FTP or telnet, often the pirate will make use of a site with lax security

    http://www.dictionary.com/cgi-bin/dict.pl?term=warez

I don't think episodes of a show fall to much into this. Im not sure really of the legality of trading tv shows is but now im interested to find out.

But sorry baldrick it's not a warez.

  18. To put it bluntly:

    It sucked big-time!

Acting was horrible, plot was stupid and it appeared to be just another "appeal to the sex-crazy male 15 year olds" formula.

    So sad! Too bad!

  19. I'm planing to record the comming season of Star Trek Enterprice on VCD, so if there is any die-hard Star Trek fans outside the US, email me privately about getting a weekly copy of the show on VCD (or the 2 hour pilot).

skittelsen, I sent you a mail about it. I figured if skittelsen agrees to what I said, we could divide the workload of distributing the series to overseas fans. And since it is free distribution, only shipping would be what they paid for.

  21. red hat gnome your email is set to private, i sent you a message so you have to logon to get it...

what settings should be used (virtual dub) to get enterprise onto 1 VCD? im encoding now but don't think it will all fit (700 mb).. also, it seems sometimes to flicker and become a bit too bright, or flicker and then it's a bit too dark. is that a problem with my video card?
