I notice that the Plextor only has a 2MB buffer. Argh...8x burning requires a sustained I/O throughput of over 10MB/sec. Why is it so hard for the optical storage industry to move to larger buffers? Seems like it's been stuck at 2MB for years now (first in the CD-R world, and now for DVDR). That lossless linking stuff better be truly lossless because you're going to be needing it a lot at those speeds.

But even so, I want one!

Max DVD+RW write speed for the Plextor writers are however 4x and not 2.4x.

I have a Samsung CDRW that has an 8MB buffer. I must say that the larger buffer is sweet!
Hope is the trap the world sets for you every night when you go to sleep and the only reason you have to get up in the morning is the hope that this day, things will get better... But they never do, do they?
