  1. Okay, my "no audio" problem is solved. Thanks to everyone that helped me out.

Now I have a .mov file and a .aiff file. How do I go about putting them together???

    Thanks,
    Soop

First off, my apologies for moving this topic, I had two windows open, and the other window was the one that was to be moved, not yours! Ill straighten this out shortly.

    Per your comment:
There are several ways to do this, however depending on what you are try to make in the end. .aiff is an audio file but more often than not audio added is usually in the form of .mp2.

Since you have a .mov already, the easiest way is it with quicktime pro.
    Open your movie file
    Open your audio file
(as long as the two are meant to be joined) ie, the audio is the audio track for the video you can select all of the audio, go to the video, select all and then ADD to the audio using the add function in the EDIT MENU

You may want to try both ADD and ADDING SCALED to see which gives you the best effect.

You can also use the MUX option in the TOOLS Tab of ffmpegx. I however have only ever done this with .mpeg files not with .mov files. However it may work
Load the video into the first BROWSE, load the AUDIO into the 2nd Browse
and choose the mux as option setting it to what you want it muxed as. Again, not sure if this will work because I use it for .mpeg files and mux them either as SVCD or as DVD.

    Worth a try though.

Now its like a roller coaster
Click the old link, it brings you to the ffmpegx forum and then back again to the Mac Forum. Whew, what a ride!

Odd. You sure its Quick time Pro.
Well i guess it would be if you could select them.

Just out of curiosity, what about copy / paste?
    Greyed out also?

  8. Okay, oddly enough when I opened up QT again the ADD & Add Scaled worked. Dunno why they weren't grayed out this time.

Anyway, can you give me a step-by-step on how to join my files? And, yes, they do go together.

    Thanks, Soop

uhhhh didnt i do that in the above post?!?

    1. Open Video File
    2. Open Audio File
    3. Select All on Video file, then COPY
    4. GO to audio file, select all then EDIT (add and/or add scaled)

find out which is the best for you. Sometimes one will work better over the other.

Add scaled is the one I would try first.

NOTE: never add scaled the audio to the video. This will result in stretching or compressing the audio and you will get some crazy pitches because of that. Rather, add or add scaled the video to the audio, because even though its scaling the video, its harder for our eyes to tell the difference than it is for our ears.

Play around with it some. Its fun when you get it wrong. Sounds like Alvin and the Chipmunks

    keep me posted

  10. Okay, that worked....sort of.

Now my audio is skipping. (Of course, that is before exporting. Wonder if that would fix it?)....Any suggestions???

    Thanks, Soop

Skipping? Only after adding them together?
Does it "skip" when you just play back the audio by it self?!?

exporting may make a difference. export it, or even better, just SAVE AS SELF CONTAINED movie file and then re open it.

ps, what type of comptuer do you have, mhz wise
