I bought a Leadtek Winfast Deluxe to play with and for the price, the card is great, my problem isn't the card, it's my signal. There were vertical lines on practically every channel. I then used composite through my VCR and the lines went away, but the picture was grainy. So, I tried using filters and different software, but the picture stayed grainy. Finally, I moved the card to another computer which was connected through a different cable and the picture was great. The problem is, that computer is 233 mhz and can't do anything. I can't move the more powerful computer there because it's at an inconvenient spot. Is there anything I can do to fix this? Thanks.

If you could be more specific with the "lines". One possible problem is the PCI bus and that least to horozontal, irregualar streaks that have bits of previous image in them. I have often seen cable signals that tend to bleed little lines around bright dark edges too.
I assume you know what interlacing looks like, and it's not that. -
The card isn't on this computer right now, but luckily I did take a picture last night.
As for interlacing....uhhh lol no I don't know what it looks like, but if I was to take a good guess, that's not it -
Does this happen on all channels or just a few? It looks ( from first guess ) like a grounding issue ( the tuner assembly is not proerly grounded ) or a PCI/CPU interference pattern.

It happens on practically all the channels (~95%). I don't believe it's the card's tuner as on the other computer, I have the cable connected directly to the card and it gives a clear picture without the lines.

its interference. Like from your computer. I have 4 computers all facing each other and i get a picture just like yours. I also cant take the portable phone under the desk or it gets all distorted
Try using a different cable with higher grade sheilding -
I get a pic like that on some of my channels-most of the channels do not have it. TMPGEnc noise filter at 100-4-100 setting removes most of the noise but the video gets blurred somewhat. Any suggestions?

Wow.....
After spending hours trying to find my problem, I found it. I moved my computer to where the old computer was thinking it was the computer itself that was causing the problem. However, once I got it all set up and turned on, the picture was great. Now I thought it was weak reception. So I moved the computer back to it's original location and figured I would test it one last time. I plugged everything in and the picture was still grainy. Somehow I plugged a different cable into the actual TV and saw that the picture was clearer than before, so I tried connecting that to my card. The picture was better! While finishing up, I plugged in FM antenna into the card and guess what.....the lines appeared! Soo I can only use one or the other...oh well...I found the problem. -
I got much better reception and captures with either the composite conection (with Sima Copymaster) or the vhs cable hooked up (using the vcr for the tv tuner). Hook up one or the other, not both. Make sure you configure huffyuv properly and you're rockin'. ........ harrymj3
