I have no idea actually. I'd be going with my girlfriend's family. They go every once-n'-a-while and asked if I would be interested in going the next time. I think it would be sweet to meet up with all of ya'll while I'm there.... Of course I'll probably be made fun of even more after ya'll see just how much of a Southern accent I have.

...and without becoming too anal, I have too groups:

1) People I'd like to meet, primarily for a beer, because I'm 100% sure we'd have a real good time/laugh and get on pretty well:

2) People I'd like to meet as I'd probably learn a little more from them, and not just about video topics:

If you asked me how to pour concrete or something, I'd have to get back to you while I looked for an answer.

As far as meeting people, I think keeping them on the other side of this screen is great. When people find out I know computers/video/etc in person, they never stop with the questions. I'd much rather talk football or about the weather or something. This site is my escape when I get trapped online with a project or research, nothing more. And the best part? I can always turn it off. Getting rid of people is sometimes a bit harder than flicking the power button.

Would it be that difficult to organise an annual regional meet (i.e. each country would have it's own meeting point for it's DVDRHelp citizens) and if that goes well, a 5 or 10 yearly international meet?

It sounds like a good idea, but I fear that we may not be as interesting in the flesh as what these forums make us out to be...........
