    Can someone let me know why my Soundblaster Audigy Platinum sound card will not read drive E:, ie it wont play any CD's/DVD's ?????

    Is the audio cable from the back of the drive plugged into the sound card?

    Yes - It was working when we initially installed it but for some reason now it wont work ???

    Maybe the input muted??? Maybe Volume set to 0??? -> Check Mixer
    Maybe switched input to digital (only XP)??? -> check drive props...

    Else -> Duno

    try control panel, sound and audio device, click the place the volume icon in the task bar, click apply

    click on the speaker icon

    then u can check your volume section
