  1. Hello,

I got some avi files (at least i think they are), cant play them (i have windows mp, quicktime, winamp, divx) Ive tried using gspot and avicodec to see what they are but those fail. At a loss at what to do since if I cant tell what they are then I cant encode them. Any ideas or thoughts? Much appreciated Thanks for your time!!!

I also have vdub and rad tools but those too fail with these avi files.

There are a few avi fix progs about like Divfix. Try that, it may work.

Also is there any way you can find out what codec has been used to produce your avi? It may be you have not got the codec installed.
