  1. Hi there

I have created an MPED2 SVCD by backing up my DVD. I need to cut about 1 min so that it will fit onto a 99min CDR. The file was created in TMPEG, but no when I try an load it again, it says that the file is unsupported.
How else can I edit the file???
If I use virtual Dub MPEG2, I can only save it as an AVI, but I want it to be an MPEG2 file

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks

If you can still load it to Virtual Dub, go ahead and frameserve it to TMPGEnc. You may also want to adjust the bitrate while using the TMPGEnc wizard, to make sure it fits on your CD-R.

What do you mean frameserver it to virtual dub. I am pretty new at this and have just followed the guides. The extra stuff I am still not to sure about.

    Thanks

Try using TMPG's FILE > MEPG TOOLS > CUT/JOIN. You can easily remove 1 minute from the end of the file.

However, I worry about the "FILE UNSUPPORTED" error. Sounds like you have corrupted it somehow.

  5. Are you tying to load it into the main encoding window of TMPG, or the MPEG tools merge/cut window?

Yes is gives me an error when I load it in the main window, but is fine when I load into cut/merge.
I initially said that I wanted to cut the file, but Tommyknokerssuggested that I drop the bitrate so the merge/cut option won't work

I tried frameserving as per the guide and I loaded and installed all the options stated in the problem section, but the frameserving doesn't want to work. It just sits there with the settings on zero (no. of frame segmetns served and no. of audio segments delivered.
There must be something else that I must be doing wrong.

Thanks for the help so far

Okay, now that you have the frameserver primed, it is time to give it a client. Open TMPGEnc as normal, close the wizard if it opens. Select Video Browse, the select All files. Look for the file you named with the .vdr extension. Selecy it, then OK. TMPGEnc should start.
    Hello.
