  1. Hi, for some reason, when I use the wizard and load the video file, before it usually loaded the audio along with it, and now today when I load the video it only loads the video. And when I try browsing for the audio and select the source that it should come from (the video) it says its not supported? Is there some settings that I might have accdiently pressed that makes it not load both at the same time? Thanks!

  2. Check what format the audio is in. Tmpg doesn't support some formats like .ac3.

You can check your file with Gspot (in the Tools section) to see if you have the required codecs installed, if not then get them.

It's usually recommended to extract a wav file and use that as your audio source when you encode. I prefer Goldwave, here's a guide.

  4. oh wow thanks for the advice guys! i think the problem is the prgoram too though cuz I tried encoding things I have encoded before that worked fine.......so if I extract the audio to wav, i just load the wav into the blank of tmpgenc? and continue like normal? Thanks !

Yup, just use the wav file in the audio source box and continue like normal.

BTW, do you use Toolame as an external audio encoder for TMPGEnc? It's better quality (from what I read) and is available in the Tools section as well. You enable it under Options>environmental settings>external tool>layer 2 encoder.

  6. just a question, will file size be better if you covert to wav? cuz I liked the file size the result mpeg was when my tmpgenc actually worked....

  7. It doesn't matter what format audio you use, as long as you convert it with the same settings, the file should be the same size.

The only thing that affects file size is the length of the clip and the bitrate. The video bitrate is set under the video tab and the audio bitrate is set under the video tab. The size and type of source does not affect the size of the final mpeg.

  10. ok, sorry for asking so many questions, but I made a seperate wav file and then used TMPGENC to encode a video using the wav file as the audio source, and then when I played the resulting mpeg video, the video had no audio? what's up with that? thanks...

  11. That seems strange , did you play it / checkit first before using it, check its there with windows media player . if it was there and didn't work ?

  12. yep I played it and i can hear the audio, do you think somethings wrong with the audio in my tmpgenc program? cuz I tried reinstalling it and for some reason it does the same thing....is there a way to COMPLETELY unistall it... thanks

  13. oh yeah another question, since i have multiple files to encode, is there a way to make sorta a "playlist" type thing for tmpgenc? so I can leave it on over night and i can just preset the settings I want and let it encode each video? cuz that would be more efficient thanks!

  14. Im not an expert though if u wanna get rid of it to reinstall , do a search from your start menu for files folders including hidden ones , delete the lot then install your new program.
you can do more that one with tmpgenc by using the project wizard, on the last page it says encode now or create another project for encoding. if u tick that it takes you back to the start to line up another one.
however in my experiance if you do loads theres always one in the middle which messes up.
hope that helped , if not im sure there will be other replies.

Yeah, use the batch encode function. You can also save the individual projects and reload them for later encoding if one of them fails.
