I don't understand, what anoying box floats around, and what makes you think that your standalone DVD player won't play mpeg-2. DVD IS mpeg-2.

  3. The cube shape that flickers around the screen is white made up of 9 smaller cubes.
It is svcd format that wont play on my dvd player, but normal vcd's play fine.

  4. Ahhh. now I see. This has just been covered in another thread too. It is because you have the Elecard mpeg-2 codec, Demo version installed. This is what generates those cubes, its a sort of watermark. Either buy the full version, or un-install it and then download and install either power DVD or Win-DVD. Demo versions should be OK. They will install a new mpeg-2 codec for you that doesn't have those annoying sqaures.

    Hope this helps.
