Is it possible to read a dvd on my plextor 24x 10x 40x cd-rw drive? I am guessing no because it doesn't even see a dvd when i put one in the cd-rw drive. Plus thats what i thought before i even tried it. Though i could be wrong and thats why i am checking.

You've been a member since May 05, 2002 and you don't know this yet
Simply put:
DVD rom drives use a different lazer. A much smaller lazer which will allow it to read a DVD, which has it's information on a much smaller scale than a CD.
There is a more complicated answer but I do not intend to explain!!! -
I knew someone was going to criticize. I knew it before i even asked the question anyway that it wasn't going to work. I just wanted to make sure. I knew 99.9% sure that it wouldn't work anyway before i even typed this.
