  1. a vcd i'm copying has two files in the mpegav folder, avseq01 and avseq02. using isobuster, i successfully extracted the avseq01 file into an mpeg file. but when extracting avseq02, a window opens and displays the error message "cannot read sectior 512353" or somthing like it and has 3 options retry, ignore and quit.

my question is why it displays that message? the vcd is in a 90min/800mb cd and works fine when using a vcd player. i don't think the vcd does not function during the last 86% of the file. doesn't isobuster read beyond 700mb or something?

    thank you.

  2. I am not sure about that error...

as an alternative you could try VCDEasy. It has a .dat to .mpeg function...and I believe is still freeware.

Sounds like you have a read error of some sort, I've gotten that message before off some bad media (lousy memorex cd-r's). The original disc can still play OK with the error, maybe just a minor glitch that you don't even notice. Select ignore and test the resulting file, it might be OK. Make sure your disc is squeaky clean too.

  4. rather than "converting" the .dat to .mpg directly from the CD....try using windows explorer and just drag-and-drop the .dat into your hdd....then use vcdeasy and convert from .dat->.mpg....however, windows media player and other players will play the .dat file directly....if not, then there's a problem w/ the file.
