Hi there everyone, I was wondering if anyone could help me with a quick question. I have a video source that is encoded in the PAL european standard of 25fps (14.71 Mb, 978 Kbps, 25.0 fps, res. 448*336 (4:3), DX50 = DivXNetworks Divx v5), and I was going to re-encode it to fit the NTSC standard of 29fps, since my DVD player does not recognize PAL. I am really new to all this, so I was wondering what the pros and cons would be of such an action, and if it would suffer from jerky playback, unsynced audio, etc... Any help is appreciated.

Do a forum search (this has been debated several times). What I'd recommend is generating an avisynth script:
assumefps(23.976,false)
encode your source DivX to 23.976 with TMPGencs film template/s or encode at 23.976fps then run pulldown.
