  1. Could some nice person tell me "without prejudice" which DVD authoring tool CLEARLY works with this burner - because I haven't discovered one?
Any positive info would be genuinely appreciated.

  2. I use a similar drive.

I have the Firewire version of the Panasonic SW-9571.

    Like the LG GMA-4020B, the SW-9571 supports DVD-R, DVD-RW, and DVD-RAM.

It also supports CD-R and CD-RW.

For photo slideshows using still images shot by my Olympus D-490, I use Ulead DVD PictureShow 2:

For more advanced DVD authoring, I use Ulead DVD Workshop:

    http://www.ulead.com/dws/runme.htm

For DVD-RAM devices, I use the DVD-VR functionality that is included in Ulead MediaStudio Pro:

The DVD-VR functionality lets you work with DVD-RAM disc camcorders by Panasonic and Hitachi.

which proggys have you tried with it?

I have one of these drives in my Gateway and I haven't run across a proggy that hasn't worked with it yet....

I've used Ulead's Moviefactory, Vegas' DVD Architect, and some other trialware that worked fine with it....

Hi, I got that dvd burner that works like a charm!! didn't liked the crappy software that came with it, for dvd backup I use nero but, for authoring I use dvdlab, it works perfect, menus, effects, so great! anyway, i've tested a lot of media, princo dvd-r works very great on it, but don't try princo dvd-rw, very hard to work with, if you have other question ask, i've been on lots of testing on this drive
