i have got a film that i have tried to encode with tmpge but the audio dosent come up i have then tried to extract the sound using gold wave but then it comes up as a osloskop file how can i get this to encode down to a mpeg file

Is it a DIVX or XVID or what?
Have you tried to extract the audio and save a s WAV using Virtualdub?
