DivX video turns to green screen when edited

Hi

I have this weird problem with a DivX 5 video.

I captured this myself into DivX (and it plays fine if you do nothing to it) but when I try to edit it in VirtualDub (to take out adverts) the video just turns into a blank green screen and this is the same no matter what video editor or player I use.

Has anyone had this problem and knows how to get over it.

I have also tried re converting it in Vdub to HUFFYUV first, but then I have a problem that Vdub will not play the video in HUFFYUV format (Just shows the first frame no mater where you are in the video).

Any help much appreciated.

Just a note to say that I found this was a codec problem.
