  1. Basically what I want to do is put some of the StrongBad emails (which are in .swf format) onto vcd so I can play them on my DVD Player. So I'd like to convert them to .avi or .mpg.

I've searched the forums, and have seen other people who have asked the same thing, but they seemed to have a good start on it, and I don't have a clue where or how to even start.

I know that some people use Quicktime Pro, but I don't have the the Pro version, I only have the free version...

Can anybody spare a little of their knowledge? I'd appreciate it SO much!!!!

    Thank you!!!

SWF2AVI - freeware. claims to do it (I haven't used it so I don't know).

total time on www.Google.com to find it - .022 seconds.

  4. Last time I checked SWF2AVI, it didn't yet support audio capture. Thought it was kinda klunky anyway.

There's also SWF2VIDEO from www.flashants.com that's pretty good, but it's hella bucks to register.

There's another one called Capture-It, which I haven't gotten to work at anything except 1 fps.

What I've been using is CamStudio (http://www.rendersoftware.com/products/camstudio ) which is working really well.

    Good luck!

yeah, let us know... it's always a drag when you try and help someone, and they go off and never let you know whether it worked or not

(well, most times when it doesn't work, they're back up in your face 5 minutes later, but you know what I mean)

    good luck.

  6. I tried swf2avi, and that didn't work out at all for me.
I see there are some more good suggestions though, and I'll try those later. I'm going out for the day, but I'll be back later. I'll try these other ideas then.

I'll let you all know how it goes. I have a feeling it's not going to go good, but, I guess we'll just wait and see.
Thanks for the help and suggestions!

  7. I'm back! I tried CamStudio, but it isn't quite the quality I'm looking for. It's a bit blurry, but I could live with that, except it's kind of jumpy, both in the video and the audio. Not to mention that when I play back what I've made in CamStudio it does this really weird thing. I took a pic of it with my digital...

The one on the left is what it does
The one on the right is what it should look like

It doesn't do it when I play it in the CamStudio player, but when I play it in anything else it does it. (Windows Media Player, RealOne, Quicktime, etc.)

Anyway, I think I'll have to just abandon this whole thing. It's so annoying how I've seen other people from past posts that have been able to do this. But I can't. Sigh. Such is the way things go for me.

Thanks for the help guys, if you have any more suggestions I'd gladly try them!
