  1. Hello all--

What I'd like to do is to take a bunch of vcd/asf/avi files, make a playlist of them, and play them out to VHS. There are several programs which will do this, but none I see will give me a running time total (I need to stay under 120 minutes). Any recommendations?

  3. mold,
i tried looking for an app to do just that. videotools.net had some pretty good onez. if you try searching da forum again under "playlist" i posted some linkz a while back.

what i do now is this.
With windows media player 6.4, which is da the best one i found, but could work under 7 (it really didnt for me when itriedit under W.ME)i quickly play my avi/asf/mpg files with wmp 6.4 to calculate my file/playtime (when im backing up to vhs). when i got my time(s) ready i create a manual playlist and load it to wmp, hit play , record on da vcr and catch some zz's.
In da morn, i got a vhs tape with a bunch o flix, ready to view in da minivan.

    For your playlist try this..

open notepad and type , or cutNpaste your filenames.

    c:\temp\filename_1of2{divx}.avi
    c:\temp\filename_2of2{divx}.avi
    d:\otherfile_1of2.asf
    d:\otherfile_2of2.asf
    e:\lastfile_vcd_1.mpg
    e:\lastfile_vcd_2.mpg

or whatever path you have your files on (it works better when its under one folder)

    save as

    Playlist_xxxxx.M3U
(if notepad saves it with a Playlist_xxxxx.M3U.txt, extension, just delete the .txt)
    then open the
M3U with windows media player (enable tv out)
    press record and voila...

hope dat helpz, it workz for moi..

    Zooter
