how do i split a downloaded avi file into 2 parts using easy cd creator 6?it says you can do it but the button is always faint how do i get it to work?thanks in advance to all the HARD WOKING PROS OUT THERE!

Mike if your AVI source file is in your Movie A line, double click it. It should now show up in your play preview window to the left and of course be playing. Now the split video should be accessable and not grayed out. Okay? Click split and it should produce the result.

thanks mate i already just found that out but thanks for your reply,now i can finaly burn movies!

i would just like to know if its this easy to use cd creator 6 why bother with all that virtual dub and tmpeg crap?is it as good qaulity?

Mike, it all depends on your source material. I have about 25 different authoring programs. They all do different things. Most are very similiar, but many are very different. Some have alot of features others are very basic. Sometimes you need a host of smaller programs to convert, re-encode to get you where you want to be. Roxio's EZ CD Creator is for the guy who wants basic capturing and authoring capability. I use it to capture from my Camcorder and when I want to go from camcorder direct to DVD burning. The program will output a source file back to camcorder as well. But it has severe limitations with authoring more complex stuff. Thats when I use a different program. Hope that explains it for you.

With all due respect, whilst you regularly post worthwhile contributions to this forum I don't think pursuing this guy from his last locked post and trying to provoke/inflame his already suspect attitude is such a good idea, do you?

When you get to the end it will offer you the choice to burn (deselct) or make an ISO or generate DVD files. Take whichever option you want and then tell the prog where to put the files.

The whole thing is extremely easy to use if you just look at what the prog offers you at each stage.

mike, look ive spent 7 mothns perfecting (yes i know some might post saying your not perfect) but believe mei READ the guides on the left and used a few of their techniques along with the one i found out and hey prestos the results i get make me m8s go wow, that isnt a dvd is it?

read the guide word for word, follow the exact steps and do what it says and you will be amazed

now the average encoding time is where people fail

if you want quick encodes expeect naff quality results

e.g. i encode mine overnight average 8-10 hour encodes and the results are brilliant
