Problems with NERO and SONY DRU510

I have bought a new sony Dru510 and I had a previously installed Latest Nero Version for my regular CD-burner. Every software seems to recognize my new DVD-burner exsept for NERO. I have tried reinstalling it multiple times, but it still only sees my old I/O Magic. What can I do?

The Nero versions that came bundled with CD Writers are locked down to only work with that drive. When I replaced my Cd Writer with a DVD writer, the old version of Nero I had would no longer work.

HI,
I too have replaced my CD writer to the Sony DRU-510 DVD writer and I am also running Nero. What you will have to do is change the serial no. details in the registration area. Best method is to install an old version of Nero and when asked to enter serial details you should also have the pick menu as to what version you require, MP3, Normal, OEM etc. In this list should also be a list of Manufactures and you just pick Sony.

I think that I have explained it as I did it sometime ago and this is what I can remember. 8)
