  1. I have an electrohome dvd player. I had it for a year now (so the garantee just expired) for the last few weeks now when I play a dvd (original) it will freeze 2-3 times during the movie for a few seconds. It is really annoying for me. I bought a dvd cleaner cd and put it on but it did not fix the problem. Anyone knows what the matter and if I can fix it myself? The dvd's I play are original ones and they don't seem to have scratches...I play them often but they still look ok to me.
    Thanks in advance,

  2. this is prolly more of a hardware issue...you could get more help in the hardware forum...

anywayz...have you tried playing the DVD in your computer? you may wanna see if the DVD freezes in the same spot..or somewhere around the same timepoint.

if not, it's your dvd player....i don't think there's much you can do about it. unless it's happening on a minority of original DVDs, otherwise, you may just need to get another one. there's plenty of sub $50 DVD player that seem to be pretty good....at least compatibility-wise, some can handle all types of media and formats....

sorry...can't really offer any help on the hardware, if indeed your dvd player is breaking down from wear and tear...

Time to buy a new one, this time buy quailty not price. You get what you pay for. Good luck!

  4. Actually it was a pretty expensive one because its a region free code and 110-240 volts. But yeah I guess unfortunately its time to buy a new one bummer.... One of my friend who works for a dvd maker company that most company including sony and all those big names actually build their dvd player to last around a year... So if that's true cheaper might jsut be better in the long run! Thanks anyway
