You have to tell the gurus what you are trying to capture, and how. I do not own Premiere, but from what I read about it, do not give up on it just yet. If it is too difficult for you at this time, try Virtual Dub. I "cut my teeth" on it, and still use it from time to time.

  4. Ulead Video Studio 7 is the best and easiest software that I have found to use with this card. I have turned out great quality products. You might want to get the utility program to support the ADVC-1394 and ADVC-50 in Windows XP systems with Service Pack 1 installed.

    You can download it from

    http://www.canopus.com/US/support/support_index.asp

You will have to register to download. But it is worth it cause of the slight bug this card has. Anyway I own two of these cards. Have one as a spare but I will probably install it in my other computer later. I was hoping to put together a faster machine for video stuff. I have some settings worked out if you need the info.

  5. the card is working well.. was my mistake..
i don't know why but after capture if i open the files in windows media playes the picture is really really bad but when i go to tmpeg to encode the quality is ok.
so now i just have to check how it works with my old tapes to see if this card is worth the money or not..
anyway i'll chech ulead as long as so many ppl say it's a good program
