I had a 48minute 480x480 NTSCfilm MPEG2 file encoded with TMPGEnc. I had accidentally left 3 minutes of unwanted video in between 3:43 and 6:44 so the file was too large to fit on an 80 minute CD-R (to make an SVCD). I tried Womble MPEG2VCR and TMPGENc to cut this out but the TMPGEnc caused audio sync problems after the cut, and the MPEG2VCR caused audio sync problems from the beginning all the way to the end with the sync getting much worse toward the end (as much as 6-7 seconds). Last night I finally made the cut and have a good 45 minute file. This was my procedure:

Open 48 minute MPEG2 in MPEG2VCR 3.11 and find the exact times I need to cut (3:43 and 6:44).
Demultiplex the 48 minute file with TMPGEnc.
Convert the audio file (.mp2) to a wav file using Musicmatch.
Open the .wav file in Cooledit and highlight the section between 3:43 and 6:44 and cut this out and save the new .wav
Convert this .wav to .mp3 using Musicmatch
    Load the demultiplexed video file (.m2v I think)in Womble MPEG2VCR 3.11 and cut between 3:43 and 6:44.
I clicked record and was only given the option of elementary video output (I guess SVCD was not an option because it was demultiplexed).
I tried BBMpeg to multiplex the cut audio and video files but the finished file didn't have any audio, I also tried MPEG2VCR but it would not multiplex them. So I used TMPGENc and it took it about 15 minutes (on a 1.2GHz Tbird) but the result was perfect.

  2. maybe it would have been easier to use vcd cutter to make to clips leaving out the bit you didnt want then join them back up using same prog its worked for me freqently and only takes about 5/6 mins with no probs
