  1. Ok I downloaded a subtitle pack with the extension of .zds. I know that I can use this file in a program called DVDSubber, which will overlay the subtitles over it's respective DVD in real time. The question is, how can I permanently insert this new subtitle track into the vob's ripped from the DVD. Is it possible with this format, or do I need to convert the subtitle type into something else?

So basically I wanna be able to rip a specific DVD to my hard drive, replace it's subtitle track with the new one I downloaded, and re-burn the dvd's so they will have the new subtitles.

  2. Sorry I've never heard of the zds file format?? You can try to convert it (either with a tool or by hand) to another 'more standard' format:

Most subtitle script files are pretty generic save for the header, so converting them by hand with a text editor really isn't that hard. Use to do it all the time for anime fansubs.

  3. Hmm, well in notepad and wordpad its just 100% unreadable code. So doing it by hand isnt possible.

  4. Theres also one other problem. The DVD is a dual layer disc. The actual video on it that needs the new subtitles is larger then 4.7 gigs. So somehow I'd hafta patch the ripped vob's with the new subs, and then split them onto 2 DVD-R's...
