I have been getting xtreamlok errors while playing some of my video files. I believe the xtreamlok may have been installed when I installed norton anti-virus but it was not uninstalled when I uninstalled the norton. I have not been able to uninstall this application, it doesnt appear in add/remove programs, and it seems to run as a service but it is not in the list on running services.

any assistance on removing this would be appreciated.

You can completely disable XL by going to your control panels, administration tools and double clicking Services. It is generally the last one on the list. Get it's properties, "stop" it and then choose "disable" from the startup types pull down menu.
There is also a tool for completely erasing/destroying/uninstalling NAV on Symantecs site. Try a google search for NAV uninstall tool or some such, I've used the tool myself.
Of course if your problem is that it isn't starting then just enable it and go from there.

Wow I was forced to wait a whole day before posting this advice. Thanks forum stupidity!
