  1. I'm trying to backup my Disc 4 to the Simpsons Second Season. I have all the files on my HD from DVD Decryptor. I want to delete the Simpson's music video from the DVD so I can get better quality video on everything else. Exactly how can I do this?? I tried eading different articles and trying different things. I think I need ifoedit. I tried ifoedit and 'deleted' the lines that pertained the specific video (or at least I thought I did). But when trying to make an image with Instant Copy I got an error when it came to that part (binary zero or something).

Can someone tell me in plain english HOW to rip this out? I downloaded ifoedit, vobrator, vobedit, and other programs but I just can't figure out how they do it. I'm a newb in the dvd scene so I need simple instructions. Thanks in advance for your help!

  2. There three main tools people use are IFOEdit, DVD Toolbox, and DVD shrink. All are freeware. IMHO IFOEdit is the best choice, but it's not 'all that user friendly.' Actually it's not that bad you just need to play around with it to learn how it works (see guides to left under DVD Rip).

DVD toolbox does the same job, but gives you more displayed info to work with.

DVD Shrink 2.3 has a preview window that makes it much easier to see what you are selecting (or in this case deselecting). Set everything you want to keep to 'no compression' and deselect the rest.

If you're a newbie to VOB IDs you might want to try DVD Shirnk as it's the easiest to use (see guides at doom9.org). But once you learn how to use IFOEdit it's a really powerful tool (sort of like TMPGenc, VDub, CCE, etc).
