ok, I found these neat little programs and guides on how to use them. that is not what my question is about.
when I mount my .iso image everything goes fine until I hit the subtitle ripping stage. Suddenly my 1 gig of RAM drops faster than I have ever seen it drop. I am using MemTurbo so I can monitor how much of my RAM is being used. my .iso image is not on my primary drive so it should not be an issue with swap space.
I am wondering if there is a way to limit how much of my system resources are being used by this particular program?
has anyone else ever encountered this problem?
if anyone has any ideas I'd like to know what to do, because once my RAM drops that low my system completely hangs and I can barely move the mouse around the screen. then i end up having to press the good old reset button on my box
thanks in advance

Sorry I can't give an answer that will fix your problem. But since you have these prog. I'm guessing you got them from doom9.org. And if that is true the best place to probably ask that question is at their boards, where the authors of both prog. frequent quite often.
Peace (^_^ ) VBlah, blah, blah
