  1. I recorded some programs with my TV card (Winfast TV2000 XP Deluxe) with MPEG-2 quality at 29.97fps. I wanted to cut the commercials and convert to a VCD-ready MPG, so I used DVD2AVI to create the .d2v and .mpa files.

After encoding to VCD NTSC 29.97 with TMPGEnc, I find that the video and audio gradually becomes out of sync as the file plays. For a 30 minute show, the audio can be off by a few seconds near the end. This is isn't a problem with small files like music videos, but when I want to record longer shows it gets annoying.

I haven't changed the framerate or aspect ratio so I assume that isn't the problem. Is there some setting that I need to deal with?

  2. Perhaps the problem is in my TMPGEnc environmental settings? Can someone who has successfully converted MPEG-2 to VCD using the DVD2AVI method please compare environmental settings with mine?
