  1. Hi,

My Sony DAVS800 DVD player states it is locked when trying to open the DVD tray.

I would be most grateful if anyone can tell me how to solve this problem as otherwise I'll have to send it back and it will take about 6 weeks for Curry's to get round to doing it!

    Many thanks

  2. most larger Currys stores have a technician onhand.
just ask for the repairs dept, take it in,and the chances are that they will fix/remove whatevers causing the problem.
i took my 28"matsui tv thats was in my bedroom, saying it was my grandads and he couldnt be without it,all he had n all,blah,blah...
and the guy resoldered the points on the board that were "dry".
it was still under warranty ,so , no charge.

When my player locks up I unplug it and it seems to reset so I can open it.

  4. is it something to do with the parental lock.
i know that my parents old panasonic dvd player wouldnt let you open the tray unless you entered a code."full parental control" it was called.
dont think it is,but its strange that it says "locked".and thats what mine does when i set the lock to "on".
