I just bought the LG OEM GMA-4020b drive, and it came with no software, and LG barely mention the drive on their website, let alone offer downloads.

All I really need to do at the moment is format DVD-RAM discs in the UDF format.

Could someone email the files to me? or burn me off a copy of the original driver CD?

    I am in UK

  2. CD and DVD drives do not come with drivers, if you install it correctly windows should automatically detect it. As far as formatting a disc you need some sort of burning software, check the tools page. I do not know which software supports DVD-RAM drives you will have to do some digging.

    Try this one:

    http://panasonic.jp/dvdram/english/

    It's mentioned in this thread:

    http://forum.rpc1.org/viewtopic.php?t=8899&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=50

I don't know if it works, I am using the original drivers.

The Panasonic drivers appear to be updates only, i.e. you need to have the driver already installed?

    Hi!

Could you email me the XP drivers to jd.woods@btinternet.com thanks!

I'm particularly after the DVD-RAM drivers and the formatting utilities, although everything would be nice

    Thank you very much!

  7. In my case, I had a difficult time getting the dvd-ram driver (the one that came with the LG retail package) installed properly. I had to update to the one on the panasonic site to get it to work.

anyways, just incase you still need the original I just emailed the english version of the driver in a RAR file.

  8. if you want the other software from the CD I can break it up into the individual setup files (B's Recorder Gold, B's Clip and windvd 4) and email you if your email account can handle this volume! unfortunately I don't have a ftp server that you can download the whole CD image from.

PS: personally I find the burning software included (B's Recorder) pretty useless. Better to use Nero or Recordnow Max if you have either of these programs.

Thank you so much for sending me the driver Mike/pakman!!

It all works perfectly now! I don't really need all the B's stuff, I'm sure Nero is just as good as burning DVDs as it is with CDs.

I just really wanted to use DVD-RAM properly, and now I can

Now I'm going to burn those drivers you sent me to a CDr, and keep it in a safe place.

Thanks again! I really appreciate it

Download the drivers from here: http://www.panasonic.com.au/support/DVD-RAM/XP2220NE%20DVD-RAM%20WinXP%20update.htm

and then when all that's working, download the update program here: http://panasonic.jp/dvdram/english/
