I have made multiple VCD's using multiple programs (VCDeasy, Nero, etc...)
I have tried both PowerDVD and WINDVD, but neither will play the disk when I hit the play button. When I hit play, it just stops. I can play the .dat files buy selecting them individually and I can play in Media Player, but I can't play them as if they were a real DVD.
Is this just because I am using my DVD-rom and not a stand-alone?
See, I don't know how these programs are supposed to work. If they won't play VCD's then I might as well just save the .mpg files.
Or am I just doing something else wrong. Bad media, Bad burner?
Try StreamFab Downloader and download from Netflix, Amazon, Youtube! Or Try DVDFab and copy Blu-rays! or rip iTunes movies!

I sort of answered my own question because PowerDVD 5 will play my VCD.
But now I wonder why WINDVD won't play it?
