Problems with MyDVD and DVD+r and DV-R

I'm having a funny problem with Sonic MyDVD.

I capture, edit and encode thru Adobe Premiere 6.5 just fine, and it
comes out fine and playable on DVD + R disks.

I have a P4 2.8 GHz, 1 GB ram, Sony DRU-500AX DVD-burner setup

Having friends with only - R player I make a - R disk from same mpg file.

Now suddenly I can only show the start menu, and the player locks up.

Anyone know why and how to fix ??
