I noticed someone at a market had 3 films on one DVD, I use DVD+R, can this be done? I used a program already installed on my machine called My DVD, and if i make 3 VCD or SVD (all within 4.7gb) the disc is ful after only putting in 2 films.
Also
A friend put a film on a disc for me and asked me to back it up as a DVD - but DVD software doesn't reconize it and i cant find anything that will convert it to avi, it plays on windows media player but not on anything else![]()
If anyone can help then get back to me asap

You can put quite a lot on a DVD - technically, but after about 3 - 3 1/2 hours worth of video, the bitrate starts dropping pretty low and you'll probably not be happy with the quality. So, yes, it is possible. I try not to go more than the 3 - 3 1/2 hour limit.
For your other question, we'll need to know a little more about it, like what format it is in etc. -
unfortuantly whenever i go into properties all it says is video clip...it opens with windows media player - i have tried it by opening it with other applications but no success....still says video clip
