I have successfully created a .avi file and can play it in all of my software players. the problem comes when I attempt to convert it on a .mpeg file. When I attempt it with DVD2SVCD right about the point where the movie splits to create the next cd, when converting the sound it stops. it basically stops converting converting the sound and if I click on cancel, it finishes encoding the rest of the movie with no sound. When I try to convert the .avi file in TMPGenc it converts ONLY the video. So my question is, what in the world am I doing wrong? I followed the guides to a T and get the same result on both of them. Any suggestions as to what I might be doing wrong?
would it be easier to simply cut the video into say two seperate files and go from there? instead of forcing it to make a split?? and if so, are there any favorite programs for accomplishing such a task?
ok, I found this on this on another site
Download and extract VirtualDUB from http://www.virtualdub.org
Start VirtualDUB and load the problematic AVI file.
In the VIDEO menu select "Direct Stream Copy"
Save the AVI under a new name. In the FILE menu select "Save as AVI"
Load the newly saved AVI into dvd2svcd and start your conversion. Usually this will fix the problem with the AVI file.
hope this works for others out there as well!
