hi.
when i rip some movies (i.e. lotr extended edition) and then open the directory with dvd2one, it detects 2 movies of identical length.
how do i know what's the difference between them and choose the right one?
i've tried to process both and open the results in powerdvd, but they seem identical.
thanks, jeremy.

What I've done is to go to you DVD player and pick the widescreen movie at the menu.(assuming that is what you want to backup).
Once it starts playing, not the title etc on the player. Widescreen has always been for me the first one.
I usually use Shrink which tells you the title number. I would assume that DVD2one would list them in order. -
thanks foolishbrett, i supposed first one was the one to choose but wasn't sure.
cheers, jeremy. -
This is not just an issue of widescreen and fullscreen on the same disc. In fact, in the case of the LOTR it is most likely a case of one having the normal dialog audio tracks and the other having commentary audio tracks. Ony any DVD which has ONLY widescreen or fullscreen and not both, this is usually the case. I believe this is the case because the DVD standard only allows up to 2 audio tracks to be assigned to each video. So, if there are more than this, they must create another duplicate video track.

I always open one of the .vob's directly in my dvd player to see if it's the set I want.
