My friend wanted me to make a copy of his harrypotter dvd for him. I split mine on 2 dvds. When I use tmpgenc dvd author I get no audio on 2nd dvd. When I play it, there is audio, but can't find audio file on any of the vobs. And vobrator only finds .spes file for audio. Don't remember what program I used to split the dvd. And dvdtoolbox after processing there is no audio anymore. So where does the dvd player and power dvd get the audio, when I can't find it?

  2. Try using some other tools like Smart ripper, dvd2one and copy2dvd I get great results every time.

Just a friendly warning, giving copies of movies you own to friends is illegal. Lending them the original is not. Discussion of illegal activities is not tolerated here.

If you want to discuss how to make personal backups for your own use/safekeeping then that is fine.

Ulrich, I guess you didn't understand what I was trying to say. The dvd copy that I ripped is on 2 dvds. The 1st one is ok, but the 2nd one showed no audio files in the vobs even though it has audio when you play it. So where does the audio come from. This is only on the 2nd dvd which is a split copy of the original. The original is damaged so I can't use that. What I'm trying to do is put 2 dvd's together as one. I did it fine with lord of the rings.

Hardly!! Too many responders in this form 'answer' questions by writing something like: "Why don't you use what I use. It'll solve all your problems. I think its just wonderful, and I know you will to." These testimonials add nothing to the discussion, and only serve to take up space.

BTW, wish I could help, but I haven't a clue. I've merged DVDXCopy discs, but with VobEdit.

Maybe, but your response is no better, at least ulrich suggested something!

scottvf, from what you have already said, you should have the original, so why not start from there?

I was commenting on scottvf's second post, not the first.
