    Really, If you haven't tried it yet, try a substitute memory module. I have had similar problems and twice that was the solution. I of course tore the whole computer apart before it tried a different module.

    It was definately the memory that was causing the reboot.
    My good friend binks120 kindly sent me some DDR to check and after installation had no resets whatsoever.
    I returned my 512mb SDRam to ebuyer and haig just recieved a replacement stick (of the same type, bastards! ) have had no resets at all.
    Result.
    Thanks to all that offered assistance, and especially binks who demonstrates despite constant murder and death on the news there really is some good in the world
