When i am try to load a avi to encode in CCE sp or lite, i get a friggen error message that says
"According to the registry, the type of file specified in AVIFILEOpen does not have a handler to process it"

It means just what it says. Are you loading a DivX.avi or a "regular" one? What did you use to encode the .avi with and/or where did you get it from?
Keep in mind CCE ONLY uses complete system conform .avi files. Sounds to me like you've got some kind of "off spec" .avi file. -

or is it a vfapi converted avi file which is being loaded into cce and its not taking? are you frameserving the avi or not?
