  1. Hi,

    I am capturing old vhs to aiv using Vegas Video and a Canopus advc-1394.

    I want to put the files onto a SVCD, after converting them with TMPGEnc, so I can watch them on my standalone dvd player and TV.

    My first trial went smoothly -- impressive picture clarity. However, there was a slight unnatural/ghostly presence to some movements (the clip was a musical act from a Saturday Night Live rerun).

    I'm very new to this, but have already surmised from reading other posts that this problem may be due to the interlace/de-interlace dilemma.

    Other suggestions for similar problems have suggested "reversing the field order" in order to possibly fix this problem. My question is simple:
    what does this actually mean in the most basic terms? How would one reverse the field order using TMPGEnc?

    Thanks very much!

    Brian

    Where it shows your source, pick the opposite field order.
    SETTING->ADVANCED->FIELD ORDER.

    Most capture cards grab TOP FIELD A, not broadcast BOTTOM FIELD B.
    I'm not online anymore. Ask BALDRICK, LORDSMURF or SATSTORM for help. PM's are ignored.
