  1. I use a pretty basic MPEG converter(Click to DVD) to edit and convert my MPEG files to VOB format. It's user friendly and doesn't need much technical knowledge to use.

However, some MPEG2 files I use cannot be opened by the "click to DVD" software. It says something like "Program does not support this file or file is corrupt". Is there another program that I can use that is reliable in editing and converting MPEG to VOB? I've read a lot about TMPGEnc, but I haven't read anything about it's ability to edit, just convert.

I was thinking that maybe these MPEG files are MPEG1, because I'm almost positive they aren't corrupt. Where can I check to see if they're MPEG1 or MPEG2? Any other ideas besides that? Thanks

I think I used avicodec or gspot to look at my files, even mpeg-2. Check me on that because I havn't done it in a while.
