Can anyone suggest where i can get cheap DVD R or DVD RW WRITER/BURNER .. even second hand, as long as it's not too expensive. Preferably in Seattle, WA? Or online somewhere to get?

PS : I accidentally forgot to put in Writer/Burner .. i'm not looking for the media.. but the writer/burner drive itself..

    Thanks..

How can you blindly sell a spindle of 50 DVD-R's for $20 without even knowing what writer he'll be using? Are you guaranteeing that the media will e compatible with whatever drive he gets? Who makes this mystery media, anyway?

  4. What is your price range (ie, what do you consider 'cheap')?

My first writer was $1,000.00. That was a bargain at the time.
My second one was $175. Another bargain at the time.

What would you consider a bargain now?
    Price range? Be realistic...

Something leads me to believe Mickey is on a shoe string budget, if he's on this site looking to buy a burner. Whats your budget?

  7. new pioneer a05 bare drive w/ FREE Shipping $168 @ esbuy

    http://www.esbuy.com/piondv4xdvdr.html

    thats a really good deal..

prices recently dropped because pioneer released the a06.

what makes this drive really good is that you can do the firmware hack on it and it works as well as a good dvd-rom at ripping encrypted dvd's & you can write at 2x on some 1x media..

all around a good drive at a good price..

My price range.. $100 to $150 .. But somewhere around $150 could be OK if i get a good deal.

Jeex.. is that pioneer one a good one? $168 doesnt sound as impossible if i dont get any better deal then that. What about second hands?

    Thankx..

If you want a used drive goto ebay.

For new stuff with a warranty use www.pricewatch.com, you can get a toshiba 5002 DVD-R for $138.

The A05 goes for $150, with the Panasonic super burner II going for $140-$145.

So you can have 2x burning for $138 or 4x for just $12 more Check the DVDWriters section for comments on DVD Writers, to see if it's any good or not.

  11. Remember to factor in shipping for ebay and pricewatch. Sometimes they make shipping prices unreasonably high.
