  1. Ok, I am really new to this. I have a NEC ND1100A DVD +R/RW and Pinnacle Studio 8. I burned a couple of coasters trying to learn stuff, and decided to get a DVD +RW to test stuff on till I get the hang of this.

Here is my question. My PC has Win XP Professional, and when I put in a DVD +RW it is "unformatted". Studio 8 can burn to it (and re-burn) but I cannot drag and drop files on it or anything. My question is does Windows XP have the ability to format a new +RW disk, or do I need a copy of some other software to manage auithoring files and erasing/formating blank new DVD's? I did download a copy of Nero (demo) and could "burn" some PC files to it, but could never figure out how to "format" it for drag and drop. Thanks!

XP won't do it directly but it will with the proper program. Roxio EZ CD and DVD creator work well and includes the "classic" interface that has the drag & drop capability. It works with all DVD +/-R and RW as well as CD's.
