How to convert Win Media Audio 2 to Mpeg 3

I have an episode of Black Adder that has Windows Media Audio 2 for the sound. Virtual Dub does not support this so how can I convert this to Mpeg 3 so I can play this in my Elta 8882 Mpeg 4 player. : x

Have you got Windows Media Encoder installed? With that you might be able to output a format that Virtualdub will read. But you might have to do it in two steps, from Media Audio 2 to another Windows format and from there to Mp3

(By the way, my copy of Virtualdub lists Windows Media Audio 2 among its audio compression options, so I somehow picked up that codec somewhere along the way, but I cannot recall exactly where (Nimo's codec pac?). You might search some of the websites for that particular codec.)

Try extracting the audio file out with Virtualdub using direct stream copy, then use a proggy called goldwave.
