  1. Does anybody know of any way to edit the audio portion (one or all of the audio streams) of a VOB file WITHOUT demuxing and remuxing??? I've tried demuxing and remuxing, but the audio is always out of sync. I also don't like to lose ANY video quality. I would appreciate any help with this issue...

No. To edit the audio, it has to be separated from the video (demuxing), then remuxed again. However, there's no quality loss in this process. The sync issue is not that easy to handle tho, and the cure depends on what kind of sync problem you experience.

  3. Thanks for the info. I'll have to make a list of the specific problems and post them. I guess I am just always looking for the easiest way (or just easier than demuxing/remuxing) to edit audio...

  4. I demux with VOBrator --> end up with m2v files based on the vob ids (1, 2, 3, etc).

Edit audio streams with Goldwave --> save to wav --> convert back to ac3 using BeSweet

tried to remux with Vobedit, IfoEdit, but never works cause I have three m2v files and so whichever one I choose, something ends up missing in the video area... i.e. I choose the m2v that has vob id 1 and only like 10 seconds shows up in the remuxed VOB (the audio is on). If I choose m2v with vob id 3, then the video ends up ahead....

So I would have to join the m2v clips or have a program that separates the VOB file in a 1:1 manner regardless of the vob ids in the VOB (or I would just have to have one vob id in the VOB)...

    Hi,

I wanted to replace LPCM audio with AC3 in a music DVD in order to save 1 GB of space before shrinking it and was thinking how to do it. Join VOBs extract WAV convert to AC3 is OK. After that however I think the whole thing will need some serious reauthoring. The freakin' thing has so many menus that I quit this idea for now but if somebody can point to a more simple way to do this it will be greatly appreciated.

    Cheers!
