  1. When i try to burn a large movie to a VCD with nero, everything goes as planned until the disk runs out of space. Nero then asks to put in another CD-R/RW medium, which I do, and it recognizes it as a CD-R, but then it opens the drive again and it keeps doing this. What is wrong?

  2. Sounds like you are using nero to encode as well as author and burn. Nero is a poor encoder and does not give great looking VCD's. I would suggest encoding with TMPGEnc and then authoring and burning with nero. You can fit 80 mins of VCD on 1 80min (700MB) disc. So if your movie is longer than this you will need to split it if you want to maintain standard VCD. With TMPGEnc you can encode and select start and end points so you can encode the 2 halfs of the movie seperately, or you can encode the whole thing in one go and then split it after. Once you have encoded and have your 2 mpg files you can use nero to create your VCD's. See the how to convert guides for help on using TMPGEnc, if you get stuck feel free to come back and ask questions.

  3. You need to split the mpeg file in 2 first, then burn it. I asume you got TMPGEnc, it contains a simple splitter/joiner (File - MPEG tools). Then burn it, with Nero if thats what you desire. VCDEasy is far better, has more options and stuff.
